Client: Personal Finance Platform

Case Study

Context: This personal finance platform specializes in delivering personal finance content to millennials and first-gen professionals. They provide content through social media and recently started offering self paced resources on their website.

Challenges: From market research, the platform has noticed some of the same questions keep coming up from their new followers. Followers want finance terms to be explained in comprehensible ways.

Solutions: This self paced storyline course provides an explanation on what "net worth" actually means, why it is important and how anyone can calculate their own net worth.

Results: After takin the course, 80% of followers claimed to feel more confident in calculating their net worth. 50% of followers claimed they could teach someone else how to calculate their net worth.

Improvements: This course can be improved by providing more scaffolding in the calculations of assets and liabilities. Giving examples of these categories would help the learners more accurately calculate their own. This course can also be improved by adding gamification components such as having the learner choose a course of action to increase their net worth and have them see the benefits or repercussions of this action.
